ABOUT GATEWAY OUTREACH, INC.
Opportunity… Betterment… Hope!
Our Misson
Gateway Outreach works together with individuals and organizations around the world to offer hope and opportunity for social and spiritual betterment, one person and one community at a time, through projects, activities, and events at home and around the world.

The Gateway Outreach Story
Gateway Outreach is a small grassroots outreach ministry established in 2002 by Jeff & Shelley Bennett primarily for the purpose of partnering together with individuals & organizations to provide support & resources to the people of the Sertao. The Sertao is a vast desert region located in Northeast Brazil reaching into 9 states and is home to around 30 million people. The Sertao has suffered from decades of drought, causing hardship & devastation on their water supply.
GO is currently in close partnership with Missao Alcance (Reach Mission) based in Fortaleza, Brazil. Missao Alcance got its beginnings in 1997. Jeff & Shelley were missionaries in Fortaleza with Global Partners, and responded to an invite from Campus Crusade for Christ to form a full-time national Jesus Film team to take the film into Brazil. Abraao & Sara Barbosa answered the challenge, recruited a team, and started running with the project. Within the first year, the Brazilian CCFC organization fully supported the efforts of the team to take the film into the Sertao.
Shortly after, Missao Alcance was established, and over the years, GO has worked together with MA to minister to the social and spiritual needs of the people in the Sertao. Together, we have gone into several settlements & communities to bring hope & opportunity for betterment through clean water projects and constructing bathrooms. We have also provided food, clothing, shoes, toys for children, hygiene products, dental care, medical testing, as well as leadership materials and training. We have trained leaders in each community. Communities have been transformed. People from previously reached communities have joined with us as we moved on to the next needy areas. People from the Sertao have been trained as missionaries, and sent to Africa. The most recent project (Christmas 2019) was called “Natal Digno” (Worthy Christmas), bringing water and hope to the community of Sao Jose do Palhano. The video can be seen at the top of this website.

The future of GO
GO is seeking partnerships with companies who may be able to provide simple, but more permanent solutions to the water problems in the Sertao. Until then, we will continue to do whatever we can to bring hope and betterment, one community at a time through clean water projects and crusades. MA is pursuing an aggressive agenda for 2020 and beyond, and GO will be right there beside them.
GO would love to offer opportunities for individuals to participate with us in person on a project in the future. This would be the opportunity of a lifetime, and would undoubtedly change that person’s outlook on the world forever. If this interests you, please watch for opportunities to join us in the future.
